What about me??? I guess I write about random thoughts, or my take on things in life. Mostly satirical, I like that the best......

Thursday It seems like forever being sequestered in the house. Had to go out for a doctors appointment, one that could not be done via electronics. No one but the patients is allowed in the office, so husband had to sit in his car. I had to answer questions when I entered the door, I thought it would be so easy for someone to lie about where they and been and if they had symptoms. I walked up the steps to avoid any droplets that might have been there.
In the doctors office the chairs were placed six feet apart and I sat in the corner by myself. The rest of the patients were sitting by them selves. In and out in record time and everything looks good. The doctors were wearing face mask, just in case.
Next stop at the vet to get her Rx, I had to call up to order it and then give my credit card number, and stand by the side door and they handed it out. REminded me of a speakeasy sale, or how I thought it would be. If you did not pick it up they would put it in a cooler with the pets name on Rx and you could just pick it up.
Last stop was the grocery store. Had a few essentials to buy, mostly what was planned to be eaten this week. Bread had all but disappeared but it was well supplied today. Also bought 4 bottles of wine. I put them in my wine cellar, which is a 12 count box from the Wine store.
The stats on the progress of Covid 19 is just unbelievable. Doubling every 2 to 3 days, just like the chart I posted a few days ago. I am tired of listening to self appointed experts on everything giving medical facts.
I have been watching a lot of movies on Amazon Prime and Netflix. Daughter is still working in the OR on cases that are emergencies and things that can not be delayed. I only see this slowing down by June. I also have a feeling that there will be a lot of divorces and a baby boom when it is all over.

SATURDAY MARCH 21, 2020
Another day passed with no good pandemic news. Had to have the furnace replaced and today was the day. The new one is quiet and it heats up the house better. It is touted to be 95% efficient and it is smaller than the old one. Actually the old one was put in 1989 or 1990, so I can say it had a good run. It is about 30 outside and going down to 24 tonight so it will get its test tonight.
I still feel like I am trapped like a rat. Saw a few people out going for a walk, they pass each other on both sides of the street keeping their distance. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.
The cases of coronavirus seem to be increasing and I see no sign of leveling off. We have been isolated for seven days so I guess another week or two will show results, if there are any. What I fear that this is going to be the new normal.

FRIDAY MARCH 20,2020
Everyday the news is more grim than the last. I guess the exponential growth is correct. I read today that there were 645 deaths in Italy today. By tomorrow it would be 800-1000. It is just hard to imagine actually.
My daughter goes to work everyday. She is a RN and works in an operating room. She said she would not come to visit because she is treating it like she is likely to get exposed. The elective surgery has been cancelled and visitors cut down to one per patient. The employees have a separate entrance and the route is blocked off. The patients and visitors have their own entrance also. There are two elevators and one is used exclusively for visitors and the other for employees.
I hope this works. She had been working to 7 PM the past few days and did get to the grocery store. She stopped on her way home and got what she needed. She said that the essentials were tagged with a limit of 2 loaves of bread and 2 of many other items. She gave me one of the loaves. Some of the grocery stores have a special 6 AM time for older people and people with other maladies. I guess the idea is to decrease the spread of the virus. The store would be restocked and sanitized during the night. It seems good in theory and I hope it works.
I hate to listen to the news but it has become an addiction. It rained all day and some of it was very heavy. I did not go for a walk, it was just to wet.

THURSDAY
In the world of health care the outlook is bad. There are not enough of ICU beds and ventilators to cover the expected sick. The virus grows exponentially. This explains it right here. exponential distribution For me the explanation was as clear as mud. I wonder what branch of mathematics is used to explain this, but then I realized that it did not make sense to me. The outlook is not good no matter what the formula says.
This will not be over in this month or the next or the one after that. All the countries of the world seem to be royally screwed. 70,000 applied for unemployment, the retired as in trouble as well as the unemployed. 401k is a disaster for the retired as well as the people saving for retirement. This will take year to recover and I am really feel the pain of my fellow man.

I WAS JUST THINKING
I am trapped like a rat in my house, along with millions of others who are also trapped in theirs too.
We first heard of the Coronavirus back in December but it was a long way from here in China It was nothing to worry about because a lot of flu and virus seem to arise in Asia or Africa. There was nothing to worry about because it was so far away and really nothing unusual.
But it kept on growing with lots of people dying, especially the older folks. It seemed to be older people with preexisting condition. Also wild critter place to shop was nothing like we have here, and the Chinese men did a lot of smoking so respiratory disease was nothing unusual.
Then something else happened, it started to spread to other Asian countries but that was a half a world away and the virus was something never seen before. It was interesting but not something to worry about.
Then one morning it suddenly appeared in Iran and Italy. That was really weird, but it still was nothing to worry about. The number of cases, rate of infection and communicability was inexplicable. I was starting to worry. Then it arrived in the USA in Seattle then followed by California, Boston and New York. The weirdest thing they finally decided is you are communicable before you're symptomatic.
Old people are dying and whoa I am in that group. Although my health is good and I went to the YMCA and did my cardio and core exercises. I am still worried and worried about my husband and daughter and all of my other relatives. I'm now getting REALLY worried.

Since January I have been hearing about the coronavirus. It amazed me how fast that virus spread world wide. I guess all those doom and gloom with multiple plots came to life. I am just glad there is not a rage or zombie element in real life.
All I have seen are stories of people lined like crazy people stocking up on copious amounts of cleaning supplies. It has descended to madness. There is no consideration about fellow man. I hope this virus goes away with the warm weather.
I never have been on a cruise, I was worried about all those people and germs. Proves my fears have been founded. I wouldn't go if they paid me to do it. Also, I hate food buffets, which is a culture media for who knows what.

QUICK MORPH INTO WINTER
Yesterday was quite warm, in the low 60's actually. A much arrival of a frigid cold front with all the warming of doom and gloom was about to be fiercely upon us. The weather forecasters act like the newest storm is Armageddon.
Last night I could hear the wind howling and windows rattling . Well, not too loudly because I fell asleep. I woke up once last night and did not bother to look out the windows, I did not want to give myself something to think about and lose precious sleep.
Woke up at about 07:00 and turned on the radio to find there wasn't the expected one to two inches of snow. Just snow on the grass, guess it was too warm from the previous day to stick. Or it missed us, I am glad about that.
Tonight the temperature will drop precipitously and tomorrow be a butt freezing night. The sky is now clear and blue so I suppose with the heat escaping to solar system or wherever it goes that will happen. Low of 13F or so they say. Have to wait till tomorrow.
The bedroom over the garage is very cold but last summer the garage door was bent from some thing on the rails and we had to be a new one, this one is insulated. It does feel a bit warmer in there, at lease I can't see the condensation of my breath anymore.
