I LOVE WORDS

I love words. I have had a subscription to the Word of the Day. Every day you will get a new word. Some of them are very obscure and a lot of them I have never heard. What I have discovered is, in the English language, there is a word for everything, no matter how small and seemingly unimportant. The little metallic band that goes around joining the eraser to the pencil, it has a name. I don't remember what it is though.
I love reading novels and doing crossword puzzles. I really have only been doing the crosswords for about two to three years. I can not do the Sunday New York Times. Actually, I can finish Monday and Tuesday, about half of Wednesdays, and by the time the weekend rolls around I get one or two words.
The picture above was also at the Phipps Conservatory. I received an email that it is time for the Fall Flower Show so I am hoping to go soon. Taking the camera, of course. When the digital camera came out I was of the opinion that they had no appeal for me. WAS I EVER WRONG. I LOVE the digital camera. I can take as many photos as I want, delete the ones I do not like, transfer them onto a disc or email them to camera website and have them printed. I bought a printer specific for photos but I now know that it was a waste of money. Why should I use my ink when it cost pennies to print them at Rite Aid.
I am hoping to go on the Annual Fall Foliage Trip tomorrow. Only if the sky is blue and a good day for photography.

  1. I'm with you, Claudia, I love words, too! If you haven't yet, check out Lori's blog I Stand Corrected, on which I contribute. As a fellow "wordy," you might enjoy it.

Love the beautiful blue of those hyacinths!

  2. Hi Claudia. Thank you so much for the thoughtful comments that you have left in my journal.

I share your love of words and I also subscribe to Word of the Day! I look forward to learning new words and their etymology.

The photo is beautiful. I just recently purchased my first digital camera and I'm still learning how to use it.

  3. I am not very good at crossword puzzles. I do love learning new words though.

The digital age has opened up new doors for so many people. I recall the days when I would drag myself to the photo lab, have rolls & rolls developed to find only a few that were suitable for use anyway. I'm happy those days are gone.

Looking forward to seeing your pictures.
