Good news, another storm is coming this week. I can't wait for that one. I seriously think I am becoming a bit crazy about this weather. Every morning when I get up this is a fresh coating of the white stuff. And also more ice on my steps, which I sprinkle salt on it every AM. After I fell on the steps I do not want the mail carrier to fall on them too.
Chuck left this morning to go to Emily's. He has a list of work that is to be done. If we had to hire someone to do this work, it would be unaffordable. We would have to employ a full time handyman for two months. He has a list of things to do. Two of the bedrooms do not have doors hung, there are a myriad of doors in the basement, but he wants to get them stripped and installed. It seems the doors were all painted white and the previous owner was in the process of redoing them when he put the house up for sale. Also a lot of baseboard and crown molding needs to be tacked on the walls.
In both the attic and basement there are doors, windows, and various wood planks and even some Queen Anne Gingerbread, we have to figure out where it went originally. Between the Living Room and the Dining Room are DOUBLE POCKET DOORS At this time they are not working, so we would like to repair them, just have to read up on how to do that.
Most of the work involves time and a basic knowledge of what to do. At some point in time we will need a new roof. I have been checking into the cost of metal roofing, that roof should last for years. The roof is steep and gabled and it is NOT a do it yourself project, you could attempt it but I see falling of the roof in that venture.
I think that is about it for today and I need to get out of this house before I am really crazy.
