Woke up early this morning,  I do not look at the clock, just do my business and and back to bed.

The light coming thru the bathroom blinds was so bright.  I open the slate with my fingers and looked out.  The snow was brilliant and in the back yard I could see three deer.  They must have heard the metallic noise of the blinds because they were looking my way.  They sensed no threat and continues on their way, jumped over the fence and left.

I had to see what time it was because I thought the deer bedded down for the night.  Alas, it was 4:45.  They get up earlier than I do.  The cats were up too and milling about.   I ignored them and went back to sleep.

Going thru pictures for Shawnna.  We had scanned a lot and she was searching for them.  They were on my external hard drive and I moved them again, but it lost some detail in the moving.  This was taken circa 1960.   My mom, my sibs and I.  Dad was taking the picture.   I was looking for Christmas pictures but didn't find any yet.

  1. When I got up for work at 4:30-5:00 AM, I would see deer in the back all the time. They seem to really like dawn and dusk--when it's hard to see them on the roads!

  2. Hi *wave* thanks for stopping by my blog!

    I love quiet snowy days!!

  3. I liked the picture; which one are you in it?? how pretty to look outside and get that gorgeous few of the deer! I always liked how everything was so brighter with snow on the ground when we were in Montana

  4. I am the oldest, first child on the left sitting on the bridge.

  5. Deer used to come up close but so many developers have taken up their space. It is so cold here today. It is 10 degrees right now. I don't think it will get to the 30's
