WORKING TOO DAMN HARD ON MY DAY OFF

Today was the "official" hospital holiday for New Years Day.  We had off today because we get six holidays a year and if it falls on a Saturday or Sunday we have off the day after or the day before.

I was on back up call and was notified the day before that the second call team had been activated.   For our day off and holiday we worked ten hours straight with no break or lunch.   The first call team also work the same ten hours too.

I am annoyed with the surgeons who bemoaned the fact that there was no schedule and we had off.   If I had hear, ONE MORE TIME, how some of them had office hours today I could just spit.  I really do not care that you scheduled office hours today.

We all knew since January 2010 that there would be no schedule and should have come as no surprise to you.    Quit sniveling I do  no have any sympathy for you.    Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.   If you wanted some sympathy from me perhaps you should have sent for take out and bought lunch for the worker bees who did not get to eat.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

  1. At a girl Claudia. My daughter in law worked Christmas Eve. She is a nurse and works 12 hour shifts. She likes to spend time with the grandkids so she likes those hours.
