WHAT HAVE I BEEN THINKING?

I just realized that I have not written anything here for over two months. Why? I ask myself, it is not that I have busy or anything like.  More likely I have mellowed and decided not to let things bother and enrage me, or at least tick me off.

Things have been running smoothly.  I also have started doing some volunteer work at the Western Pennsylvania Genealogy Society. I have not found my niche with that one yet.  Right now we are sorting Naturalization records from the Court of Quarter Sessions, and then we will begin microfilming.   I thought they would contain a lot of information but they do not; the information is scant at best.

I had hoped of finding where in the various countries my ancestors came from but that hope has been dashed.  First they filed a letter of intent and the second page is the date that they became a citizen.   A lot of the papers are missing and who knows where they have gone.

I am planning the Thanksgiving menu, it is really easy because they like everything the same as last year.  Everyone brings a food offering and we help each other clean up..  On the menu is turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, dressing, gravy, cranberries, corn, beans and dessert.  I may throw in another veggie, I have to think on that one.

  1. Sounds a lot like my daughters Thanksgiving.. I will be going for dinner but Joe will stay with Spunky. He can not be left alone for at least another 6 weeks, until his knee is thoroughly healed. I just hope it holds.
